Profile Summary

 

The Sports Producer is responsible for the delivery of programme content to sports clients.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • To be responsible for overseeing contracts with football clubs, delivering content for web, mobile, Matchday and broadcast programmes.
  • To have the capability to manage 2-3 match day programmes for Tier A clubs.  
  • To design and develop a new Matchday programme.
  • To effectively brief and communicate jobs to editors and graphic designers in order to achieve a high quality end result.
  • To complete all required paperwork, including treatments, health and safety documentation, editorial briefs, de-briefs and storyboards, following company workflows and structure.
  • To contribute to the preparation and writing of tender documentation for creative production bids.
  • To write scripts creatively and independently.
  • To create shows/promos/spots based on input from the client and wider design team.
  • To work effectively within a small team, giving creative input and taking responsibility for individual projects.
  • To assist in the creation of internal marketing video content.
  • To work closely with the client and the production department to ensure that projects are completed and delivered on time and within agreed budgets.
  • To manage an internal project team, including chairing project and debrief meetings and ensuring  customer requirements are clearly communicated to all internal stakeholders.
  • To maintain a high level of professionalism when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To seek input and consensus in order to resolve problems, meet deadlines and ensure creative goals are met.
  • To be available to work on a live Matchday in a gallery based role if required.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in digital media, graphic design, broadcasting, radio/TV/film production or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of working in a sports environment and a thorough understanding of, and interest in, football and a broad understanding of other sports, including Rugby League, Rugby Union and Horse Racing.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC platforms, Excel and Word.
  • Experience of working in a live studio environment.
  • Experience of filming with solid state HD cameras.
  • Experience in lighting and green screen filming.
  • Basic knowledge of MAC platforms, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro, importing, renaming and organising clips and exporting and/or encoding files in all formats and resolutions.
  • Familiar with the capability of Adobe Premier, After Effects, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
  • Familiar with both SD and HD formats.

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to impart information verbally and in writing with a high degree of grammatical accuracy.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively and handle multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Creative approach to problem solving, with a track record of providing innovative and effectives ideas and solutions and taking ownership for their implementation.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to the working environment, with an ability to respond positively and enthusiastically within a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a strong “can-do” attitude and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills.

 

Additional Information

 

Due to the nature of the role and industry, the post holder will be required to work evenings and weekends.
